According to the ONS, "output of the production industries fell 5.1 percent, while service industries fell by 1.6 percent, with negative growth in all sub-industries except government and other services." (British economy shrinks 2.4 %-----) Britain is still reputedly the sixth biggest global manufacturing economy. The UK manufacturing sector is currently in recession and last year recorded its largest annual decline for a decade. The manufacturing sector had witnessed the boom in 1995 when it touched almost 8% growth and then moved in between 0 to 2% growth level. After touching more that 2% in 2007 the manufacturing shrunk below in 2008. Services account for 80% of Britainââ¬â¢s G.D.P. The UKs services industry as seen as the engine of growth for the national economy does not appear convincing. There is puzzling question in

Social Performance, Part 2 Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words
Social Performance, Part 2 - Essay Example This ensures that the company operates within the given guidelines. It is noteworthy that these guidelines are set under the federal sentencing guidelines for organizations. Every company should observe these guidelines whilst undertaking its operations. The federal sentencing guidelines are a set of rules, which enforces standardized sentencing policy to individuals and organizations condemned of criminal offences. These rules were set in the United States federal court system (Davidson, 2005). These set rules and regulations are only applicable to serious crimes, and offences. In this regard, the less serious crimes are excluded from these regulations. The primary goal for these guidelines aims at alleviating sentencing inequalities rampant in the established sentencing system. The guidelines promote the development of effective programs by the company in an effort to prevent and identify law violation and set steps for facilitating the program. Companies, therefore, should have se t codes of conduct to be followed to avoid and minimize violation of laws. This will improve the reputation of the company. The code of conduct is a system of behavior followed for maintenance and promotion of companyââ¬â¢s dignity and reputation. Romco Company has set codes of conducts, which should be adhered to by its stakeholders including executives, board of directors, directors, company secretary, staff, and other employees. Each company has its own set codes of conduct, the codes of conduct are unique for each company, and thus, there is no uniformity or standardized codes of company. The freedom accorded to these companies have contributed to problems in the way companies operates this is because some misuse it by setting codes for the sake of personal greed and interest. Romcoââ¬â¢s competitors are examples of companies with codes of conduct, which do not put into consideration the interest of its customers and competitors. Angels, Ramal, and Queens Companies fall in the same industry with Romco. The codes of these three companies are, however, different and do not agree with those of Romco. The directors of these companies are superior as decision-making is centered. They do not consult other stakeholders as they have a final say, and thus, they make decisions based on their personal gains and interest without considering other employees. Honesty and transparency among the directors are not observed, and thus, the allocation of resources to different departments is not uniform, hence affecting operations of the company. These companies have constantly become the victims of the federal sentencing guidelines. This is because of their failure to complying with the basic laws, regulations, and rules. In addition, they have failed to establish the appropriate business ethics and code of conduct appropriate for corporate governance. Ramco, unlike its competitors, have set rules of conduct, which are adhered to, and strictly observed by the parties i nvolved in the company. The interests of various stakeholders that are significant for the growth and success of the company should be considered. Romco has managed to achieve this role. Decision making in the company is reached by involving all participants. In this case, the decisions do not lie in the hands of directors, and managers, the decision-making is decentralized. The directors of Ramco execute their duties with fairness, honesty, and transparency. They are required to perform their duties professionally, with determination and

FDT 2 week 8 - Essay Example Specifically, the article is quite not clear about its main thesis, especially when it says that the human trafficking and smuggling are heinous crimes against the humanity. It should be appealing if the author was able to include on what ground do these crimes violate or interfere the promulgation of the international law. It might be necessary to present at some point the international laws relevant to telling that human trafficking and smuggling aside from posing risks to people also violate the law. The thought linked to this should have made the point clearer as to the issue and on the ground that human trafficking or smuggling are crimes against the humanity. On the other hand, the author basically presented some reasoning about the danger or threats linked to human trafficking and smuggling activities. However, this point should have rich supporting details in order to make the entire argument smooth and vibrant in its general

Jesus, the embodiment of God's narrative Term Paper
Jesus, the embodiment of God's narrative - Term Paper Example Jesus presented himself as a culminating factor to the teachings and prophecies of the old testament, explaining the correlation between the new and old teachings of the bible (Wright 12). A particularly significant example of Jesus in the context of history as observed during his baptism by John. Jesus told John of His need to be baptized by him; this addressed the entire old church, as observed by many other individuals who received the spirit in the old covenant. Jesus received the spirit at His baptism (Jn. 3: 34). The baptism took place in the wilderness, representing an aspect of explaining that Israel existed in exile. Israelââ¬â¢s exile period existed from Abraham to David then to Jesus. In the old testament, Isaiah talked of when water and spirit would be poured onto the ground of Israel, the covenant would renew (Isaiah 41: 17-20). Jesus baptism acts to fulfill this promise. This baptism also tries to explain a new creation as observed in the creation story where Spirit hovers in a bird like form over watery earth, similar to the experience during Jesusââ¬â¢ baptism. The historical story of Jonah aboard a ship, then into the belly of a whale then onto dry land (Jonah 1), interprets into the burial of Jesus, in a tomb (similar to Jonah in the belly). Jonah is free after three days and nights, just as Jesus arose from the dead after three days. This acts as acceptance by the New Testamentââ¬â¢s embodiment of the Old Testamentââ¬â¢s writing. The Old Testament explains of an instance in which Abraham goes to make a sacrifice of his only son to God, Isaac (Genesis 22). This previews the act by God to sacrifice His only Son for the sake of the world (John 3:16). This two instances all talk of sacrifices by a father on his son for a given cause. Jesus fits fully into the story of Abraham in the Old Testament. The story of Joseph in the Old Testament is well embodied by Jesusââ¬â¢ life

Analysis on Jones and Shepard Accountants Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words
Analysis on Jones and Shepard Accountants - Essay Example Being a hierarchical organization in nature, it was hard for it to focus on the running of projects in the organization. This paper will review the problems the organization faced in terms of systems. Also, it will look at the possible recommendations that might have improved the functioning of the organization. Internal conflict in the organization has led to squabbles that have affected the accomplishment of project goals. This is due to lack of proper organizational structures. With nobody to manage the stakeholders present, the desired results are not attained. The lack of people in command to govern the running of the projects in the organization often pushes the customersââ¬â¢ needs and wants to the backburner. The hierarchical system in most organizations can prevent the attainment of desired results in the organization (Kerzner, 2009). Restructuring the system in which the organization is run can help the organization tremendously. Dividing the organizationââ¬â¢s structure by hiring project managers to aid in the running of projects can also be of immense benefit (Kerzner, 2009). When the organization realizes the current system they are operating on is not working in their favor, they might try to adopt an alternative approach that focuses on the organizationââ¬â¢s projects rather than the one that does not. Adopting a matrix system may be the way to go about it. A matrix system is one that involves different functional leaders in charge of their fields of expertise. Here, the people are able to report to the different leaders responsible while following the correct procedures, and protocol (Kerzner, 2009). Project managers have influence over the performance of all the employees they manage. There are different types of matrixes. There is the strong type, the weak type, and the balanced type. The strong type covers the project manager being in charge of the functioning of the projects.Ã
